Performance of Top 5 News and Magazines Apps in Spain for Q2 2023

In Q2 2023, the top News and Magazines apps in Spain showcased diverse performance metrics across downloads, revenue, and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

EL PAÍS exhibited a notable increase in weekly revenue, reaching about $6K in mid-June. Weekly downloads saw a decline, starting from 1.8K at the end of March and dropping to 816 by the end of June. However, weekly active users showed a positive trend, increasing from 49K to approximately 55K throughout the quarter.

El Mundo - Diario líder online experienced a peak in weekly revenue at around $5K in late April, followed by a gradual decline to approximately $2.7K by the end of June. Weekly downloads remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 218 and 299. Weekly active users maintained a steady range, hovering around 24K to 26K.

EXPANSIÓN - Diario económico saw its weekly revenue peak at $1.5K at the end of March but then experienced a decline, bottoming out at $515 by the end of May before a slight recovery to $1K in late June. Weekly downloads varied slightly, peaking at 300 in early April and then stabilizing around 138 towards the end of June.

elDiario.es showed an increase in weekly revenue, peaking at about $1.4K by the end of May. Weekly downloads remained relatively stable, ranging from 304 to 492 throughout the quarter.

El Confidencial experienced a peak in weekly revenue at approximately $6.1K in mid-April, followed by a decline to around $2K by the end of June. Weekly downloads showed minor fluctuations, peaking at 680 at the end of March and ending the quarter at 425.
